What a fantastic entertainer for Upendra birthday. Releasing on Mahalaya Amavasye this is a ‘Maha’ entertainer for the fans and family audience. It is not only power packed remake of Telugu film ‘Krishna’ but a comedy filled film with doses of sentiment, absorbing songs, exhilarating stunts, resounding cinematography and excellent performances.
Before the interval audience would get their money back. After that it is a bonanza for the audience. What is interesting is the measurement of all elements of a commercial entertainer. While Upendra is gusty and gather highest attention it is Rangayana Raghu who steals the show in the comedy that immaculately suits him. Even the Rajaneesh fans would go dumb struck with this Rajani heroine Arthi Chabria.
What is required for your precious two and half an hour is filled by this Ramu Enterprises that has made a right commercial blend in ‘Rajani’.
He is Rajani (Upendra) bowled over by the beauty of Sandhya (Arthi Chabria), he is mistaken for a ruffian but he is M.Sc in computer science. When Sandhya’s computer is jammed he makes it work and at the same wins the heart of her. He is a go getter and nothing is impossible for Rajani. He accidentally involves in a prank created by Sandhya shows his guts in the society. One day Sandhya misses out from Mysore. Rajani come looking for her and the elder brother of Sandhya a famous builder turned a famous rowdy now in a very hard situation explain the past of his life. Enters Jakka in this flash back who is the most feared villain – the pains he has served is so horrible and he is feared by everyone. On such a feared personality Jakka the brainy and muscle work of Rajani has to win to get Sandhya. Rajani does it with great aplomb.
Upendra is not only best in action but in dance, dialogue delivery he wins the heart of front benchers. He looks good on the screen is an old compliment. Female audience would prefer his mannerisms. Arthi Chabria is like an ice cake. She is soft and cool on the screen. Her costumes are very colorful and compact. Rangayana Raghu is the winner. The mutton Gunya joke will become very popular. From all his earlier films he is different here in the comedy department. Even Sadhu Kokila has not crossed the limits. Ramesh Bhat, Doddanna, Sharat Lohitashva, Chitra Shenoy, Thulasi Shivamani are very comfortable on screen and make the audience very easy to sit through. Mukul Dev is quite Ok.
Hamsalekha magic continues. The top of the chart will be Thiboki Kannu nandu….sung by KK. Barthiya Barthiya Lunch ge barthiya….Dun Dun Dun gundigeli love….are additional treats from Hamsalekha. The cinematography has no flaws. You would see every frame look very bright and well conceived on the screen.
You don’t need anything better than this cinema to get entertainment!
