AWARD FOR SHRUTI HARIHARAN AND ACHYUTH KUMAR

Two prominent actors today in Kannada cinema Shruthi Hariharan for her role in ‘Beautiful Manasugalu’ and highly talented Achyuth Kumar for ‘Amaravathi’ have bagged the best actress and actor award respectively for 2016 state awards.

The prestigious state award for 2016 has been announced on Monday evening by chief minister of state Siddaramaiah in the presence of state award committee. The state awards will be presented on Dr Rajakumar birth anniversary April 24. Nearly 124 were in the contest for various categories of awards.

Apparently both the roles of Shruthi Hariharan and Achyuth Kumar bear the sufferings in the society. The role of Achyuth Kumar also involves crime in ‘Amaravathi’ while Shruthi Hariharan seeks the justice for crime committed by Achyuth Kumar as cop in ‘Beautiful Manasugalu’ of Jayathirtha.

Among other state awards – Amaravathi was adjudged first best film, second one goes to Railway Children, third is ‘Antarjala’, Moodla Seemeyali is best socially relevant cinema, popular category cinema award goes to Rishab and Rakshit Shetty ‘Kirik Party’, best children film is ‘Jeer Jimbe’, best regional ward film is ‘Madipu’ Tulu language film.

Rama Rama Re gets the debutant award for director Sathyaprakash, supporting actor is Naveen D Padil Kudla Café, for Pallata Akshara Pandavapura gets supporting actress, best story Nandita Yadav, screenplay Aravind Shastry for Kahi, best dialogue award to BM Giriraj for Amaravathi, cinematographer is Shekar Chandra for Mungaru Male 2, best music director if MR Charan Raj for Jeer Jimbe children film, editor is C Ravichdnraan for Mummy, child actress is Baby Sirivaanalli for Jeer Jimbe, Manohar K who recently got national award for ‘Railway Children’ gets the state award too.

For art direction Shashidar Adapa is best, Karthik Saraguru for Jeer Jimbe is best lyric writer, playback singer is Vijayaprakash for Beautiful Manasugalu, Sangeetha Ravindranath is best female playback singer for ‘Jalsa’, special award to Chinmayi for Santheyalli Ninta Kabhira, best production executive if KV Manjayya for ‘Mungaru Male 2’.

The state award headed by Kavitha Lankesh with Rekha Rao, Basavaraj, Chandrika Gururaj and others watched 124 films to finally arrive at the above list.
