The Kannada Film Directors Association has thought of a unique step in shaping up Directors Film Bazaar for the ensuing 12th Bengaluru International Film Festival. As a matter fact the producers sector should have taken this initiative.
Yet the good work should be always appreciated. Teshi Venkatesh, KANFIDA President and team after holding discussion with producers a Sri Renukamba Digital theatre addressed the media on the ‘Directors Film Bazaar’.
Today only 10 percent films of big stars are getting market. 90 percent of film producers are not getting market for the product.
In this Directors Film Bazaar the producer and buyer will be given one to one meeting in two days time at Sheraton Hotel on March 2 and 3. Before that the Directors Film Bazaar has taken up various programs like workshop, seminar etc at the Orion Mall screen 8.
According to BR Keshava a feature film has avenues to generate revenue from 159 possibilities. He says there are 40 ways for audio company that takes the rights for peanuts from producers. In the world market the proper approach is made the right share for the producer comes easily he puts forward.
The DFB would function rigorously even after the 12th Bengaluru International Film Festival. Every three months it would be revived to get good scope for Kannada films that are not fetching its due share in the market.
The previous and current films could take part in the marketing of their films in ‘Directors Film Bazaar’. A website has also been formed for this purpose.
The buyers of Kannada film at the Directors Film Bazaar will have direct meeting with the producers and 10 minutes of trailer of the film will be made available before signing the contract.
Already 150 producers have signed the DFB for business purpose of their films. The numbers would increase is the hope of KANFIDA members.
