ELECTION FEVER GRIPS STATE FILM INDUSTRY
Posted date: 28 Wed, Mar 2018 11:20:43 AM
As the Election Commission of India has declared May 12 as Karnataka state assembly polls for 224 constituencies and counting is on 15th of May, the new government would be probably by 20th of May 2018.

As the election in state is the biggest happening and IPL is kick starting on 7th of April, the worried are Kannada cinema industry producers.

Over a dozen big films obviously look for release after May 20th. That means to say the non Kannada films have a role to play strong in Karnataka market.

As so many actors of Kannada cinema industry are in the fray for Assembly elections, the films such as ‘Munirathna Kurukshetra’ has to come only after May 15. Munirathna Naidu is the candidate of Rajarajeshwari Assembly constituency. The election code of conduct has come in to effect from 27th of March – that obviously pushes the biggest film in second half of May 2018.
