The pattern of this film is not new to Kannada filmdom. We have example of ‘Aptha Mithra’ – ghost giving trouble and finally the power of God winning. Same is the case with this remake film of ‘Dillukku Duddu’ released in Tamil in 2016.
In the rich and poor barricade, the true love wins. The attempt is good; the fear factor is only for characters of the film but not for the audience who are watching the film ‘Gimmick’.
Gani is from a middle class family. Rani is very affluent. The love between the two is the problem for Rani father Gurudath. He hatches a plot and a set up team of ghost lead by Shobaraj is appointed. Gani and his parents at old bungalow face strange situations. As a matter of fact there is ‘Ghost’ in this bungalow that is locked by the power of Buddist monks. On the fall of moon light on ‘Hunnime’ the ghost reappears.
Now the situation is real and created ghosts in the huge bungalow. Finally the Buddist monks appear again but the havoc is controlled by bravery of Gani as Rani is lied down with ghost attack.
What happens and how goddess Banashankari Trishula plays vital role you have to watch it on screen.
The golden star in first horror comedy thriller subject is very cool and significant in a few portions. Ronika Singh is a beauty to watch, comedy track of Shobharaj, Mandya Ramesh, Sunder Raj, Ravishanker Gowda is well enacted.
Two songs of Arjun Janya are quite absorbing; cinematography of Vignesh is quite competent. The special effects are good, editing table; the film could have been pruned a little.
Director Naganna second film in two weeks ‘Gimmick’ has good elements at places for the fans of Golden star Ganesh.
