One of the highly respected playback singer, music director of Kannada cinema industry, state award winning singer for ‘Kolumande Jangamadeva….in Janumadha Jodi, leaves his Jodi Suma and reached heavenly abode on 30^th August.

An engineering graduate LN Shastri evinced interest in singing and developed his style that gave emotional feel. He has won Kannada Chitra Rasikara award, Arya Bhatta award, Chitra Premigala award, in Telugu film ‘Prerana’ he directed music, in 1996-97 Karnataka state awards Shastri bagged the award for his unforgettable song.

A day after his birthday LN Shastri breathed last for intestinal cancer at his residence. It was too early to depart. He was just 46 and commenced his career in cinema as track singer in 1991. He has delivered songs for most of the composers after that. He was a music director for quite a few films. The last one was ‘Melody’. For the audio release except Hamsalekha all the music directors attended it. It was a grand day in the life LN Shastri.

It was in 1996 LN Shastri got the coveted state award for the folk song that was in unique style and it is evergreen. In the name of Chaitanya, he composed songs and always maintained the humble nature in his 46 years of life. His debut music direction was for his friend Nanjunda debut direction ‘Kanasalu Neene Manasalu Neene’. LN Shastri remained as backbone for Nanjunda comeback film ‘Melody’ in which his another best friend Rajesh Krishnan appeared on screen with singer and actor Chetan Gandharva. His last music composition is ‘Siganduru Chowdeshwari Mahime’.
