A richly talented comedy actor of over 650 films, mimicry artist who could bring in Minuguthare Kalpana voice immaculately Mimicry Rajagopal passed away at the age of 69 on Thursday morning. He was suffering from Asthama and kidney failure further deteriorated his condition. He was residing in an apartment in Kengeri locality.
He leaves behind his wife and three daughters. Getting married to three daughters in my life was the only earning I made Mimicry Rajagopal had told some time ago cursing his fate.
It is only when I get a job there is earning for livelihood. That is the situation from the last one and half decades Mimicry Rajagopal lamented in one of his chats with the media friends.
The mimicry of Rajagopal was very famous. In one of the programs it was early morning the program dragged. When Mimicry Rajagopal came on stage it was a huge applauds that is mainly because of Kalpana mimicry he was making it permanent in all his programs.
Dr Raj was telling me I am Muthu Raj, you are Raj Gopal! That was the pure affection he got from legends of the cinema industry.
In the last one and half decade he had understood that the industry is sidelining seniors. For very small shots in the film from older directors I was getting a job. Today it is not like that he had told in a choked voice.
From 1982 Mimicry Rajagopal was very active in cinema and stage programs. In his career he dubbed the voice of NS Rao (Om Prakash Rao father) for 12 films when Rao passed away. He had worked in Dr Vishnu, Ambarish, Shivarajakumar films. He was famous for comedy skits. In a film like ‘Real Police; he got promotion of head constable in Saikumar film.
Mimicry Rajagopal never begged for help from anyone. He only urged for getting roles. He followed his best friend Michael Madhu who passed on May 14, 2020.
