RAJAKUMARA PERFECT DESERVES RESPECT
Posted date: 24 Fri, Mar 2017 02:06:37 PM

Title – RAJAKUMAR, Producer – Hombale Films Vijay Kiragandur, Direction – Santosh Ananddram, Music – V Harikrishna, Cinematography – Venkatesh Anguraj, Cast – Puneeth Rajakumar, Priya Anand, Sarath Kumar, Achyuthkumar, Rangayana Raghu, Avinash, Prakash Rai, Ashok, Ananthnag, Dattanna, Bhargavi Narayan, Honnavalli Krishna, Chitra Shenoy, Chikkanna, Sadhu Kokila and others.

This is the film that gives ‘Santosh’ and ‘Ananda’! At the same time this film aims at the policies of ‘Rama Rajya’! Do Good and be good.

Not the least ‘Kasthuri Nivasa’ is ‘Khali’ is a proud moment in this case. You wash your tears when good of Sri Rama prevails (lord Srirama of Tretayuga – Dr Rajakumar is very fond throughout his life). For this the Lord Krishna strategy of Siddarth works out brilliantly. For elders and youths this is a must watch. It rakes old memories. The chances of what ‘Jeevana Chaitra’ of Dr Rajakumar film had done – shutting down liquor shops in real life, the impact of this film would have on youths who have discarded their parents. Surely many are going to bring back their parents home.

Normally the second film of any director is curiously watched. Where he errs is the look out. Santosh Anand Ram has not erred at any place although the Goa trip to old parents looks detached from the cinema. Marvelous cinematography from Venkatesh Anguraj and excellent music from V Harkrishna makes this film ‘Rajakumara’ further haunting.

For good happening bad is the instructor. Siddarth the ‘Perfect’ in business with his parents in Australia is in shock when his happy family dies in an air crash. He respects his father played by Sarath Kumar enormously. An iota of disrespect he does not tolerate for his father.

With such disturbed mind Siddarth comes to the orphanage home where he was taken by childless couple Sarath Kumar and Vijayalakshmi Singh. The orphanage that is ‘Kasthuri Nivasa’ now is the home for aged. The inmates of this house have different tales to tell. These ‘Kasthuri Nivasa’ inmates bring lot of memories for Siddarth who is ‘Appu’ for everyone now.

Two are the agenda for Appu now. He wants to restore good name to his father who was part of Polio campaign in Karnataka. Second is to set right the life of people of ‘Kasthuri Nivasa’. With affluence on his side, superb power in his shoulders Appu becomes ‘Appa’ for everyone in a very convincing way.

At the final round he even changes the oath taking Health minister Prakash Rai mind. How you have to watch it on silver screen.

The first half of the film is in exotic locations of Australia. This is where you find the heroine Nandini falling in love with Siddarth. How their love confusion is sorted out is another interesting point. At this first you would say there is something very strong in the store.

That is what exactly Santosh Anand Ram delivers. He is very strong in this film in the second half. The punches to baddies and punches the hearts with right words.

Power is several tons of transformers indeed. Puneeth Rajakumar reminds Dr Rajakumar at many places especially when he comes with beard a doll and a suitcase to orphanage from where he was picked for affluence in life.

Exhilarating dance, spectacular action and wonderful costumes and makeup for Puneeth Rajakumar is impeccable. Priya Anand just does not dance but emote well.

Ananthnag, Dattanna  (especially when he is on death bed), Prakash Rai, Rangayana Raghu, Venkat Rao, Chikkanna, Sadhu Kokila, Bhargavi Narayan……the big list of supporting actors are ‘Perfectly’ suited for the film roles.

V Harikrishna has come back with flying colors. Three are ‘Masth’ and two are lovely. Venkatesh Anguraj wins the hearts on many occasions. On one occasion he shows the photo of Lord Raghavendraswamy from top angle you don’t miss watch it.

For Kannada audience the festival of ‘Ugadi’ has arrived with the release of this film. For icon of Kannada cinema Dr Rajakumar name there is perfect respect.

Santosh Anand Ram could easily called one of the best Indian directors in cinema. Go watch this film – You have Obbattu, Bevu, Bella in advance!

5/5 *****
