Right from the title card ‘Ranna’ is an exceptional entertainer with lot meaning, lighter moments and family bondage taking the most important place.

For those who want to see Dr Vishnuvardhana in emotional performance can watch the climax scene at Kengeri railway station performed by Kichcha Sudeep. It is such a tremendous exhibition of talent from Kichcha Sudeep. He overtakes the flaws of second half in his performance with Madhoo, Devaraj, Tabla Naani and others on the spot.


So where the Paisa Vasool has happened for the audience and especially fans of Kichcha Sudeep? It is first half friends. Sudeep extremely gracious looks and performance gives back every penny you have given to the ticket in the grand and lavish first half.


The story line is nothing but ‘Ondagona Baa’ of the past. It is Telugu remake ‘Attarintike Daredi’ remade as ‘Ranna’. Stinking rich Bhargava (Sudeep) on the wish of his grandfather Sharat Chandra (Prakash Rai) comes to Bengaluru to meet his paternal aunt (Aththe) Saraswathi who has discarded the family 25 years ago. Bhargava in the name Chandu as driver joins his aunt house. A series of developments that takes place leaves a strong suspicion at the interval point. Chandu agrees to the doubts of Sarasvathi his aunt. He is asked to get out of the house. The anger is still strong in his aunt. Once again he stages a comeback but it is point of no return for Chandu. He convinces his aunt after some developments. At the climax through his emotional address the things are set in right condition.


Saraswathi returns to her father place and this 20 percent share of the huge business empire finally makes Bhargava as CEO of the family business. The wish of Sharat Chandra to eat food happily with all family members also happens.

Sudeeep is the main stay of the film. In dialogue delivery, action, romance and some comedy laced in his role – Sudeep is peerless. He is compact and so splendid in every frame.


Madhoo in her comeback is not startling. In a composed role Deveraj steals the show. Prakash Raj has his ability tuned down, so is Sharat Lohitashva, Tabla Nani and Chikkanna gives lot of funny moments, Sadhu Kokila in second half and his portion is tiresome. It could have been deleted.


Rachita Ram is sprightly heroine is a treat to watch, Haripriya scores from her innocence and beauty.


Jagadoddarana....is rightly used for the film. It suits the hero quality in the film. V Harikrishna picks the tunes of his earlier films. Sudhakar camera work is another pleasant point of the film. Dialogues written well to suit the image lift of Kichcha Sudeep.


You have good film in the city, good artists on the silver screen, good performances are emoted. Run for buying ‘Ranna’ tickets.
