Posted date: 20 Sat, Aug 2016 – 10:10:37 AM

Title – Astitwa, Banner – V San City Infrastructure Private Limited, Producer – Vishwa Kariyappa, Direction – Nutan Umesh, Music – Vijay Anthony, Cinematography – Rakesh, Cast – Yuvaraj, Madhusoodhan, Shine Shetty, Prajju Poovaiah, Dhuniya Rashmi, Sonu Gowda, Edakallu Gudda Chandrasekhar, Rajesh Natarajga, KS Sridhar, Nagaraj Murthy, Shashidhar Kote, Shylaja Joshi and others.

A film with food for thought and also showing ‘repentance’ is high point of this film. Elders are torch bearers for youths. When they go wrong what happens is explained in the beginning of this film with shocking disclosure. The film is mainly on the ‘Opportunism’. That is for the ‘Astitwa’ of protagonist Ram or Raheem in the film.

Director Nutana Umesha has got the right subject from producer Vishwa Kariappa – a remake of Tamil film ‘Naan’ – in the screenplay the intelligence of the youth with his vigor strikes.

Ram (Yuvaraj) at an adolescent age set his mother and her illegal partner on fire when he sees his father committing suicide.

The journey of Ram later grows up in remand home. He shows exemplary skill. But instead of using it for good, he uses it in a wrong way. Once again the social imbalance that he faces makes him to pick wrong route. Firstly on his way to Bengaluru Ram meets with an accident. He uses the opportunity of one dead Mohammad Raheem with his certificates. In his search for job and seat he succeeds. His crime goes on mounting when he reaches Krish house. He becomes a part of two murders. His mind is turning psychic at times but he consoles himself. He knows how to fool even the police, he knows mimicry. Finally he goes to serve the mother of Mohammad Rahim with whose name he is living today.

Yuvaraj has given a settle performance. There is scope for improvement for him in the coming films. Madusoodhan and Shine Shetty are good. Prajju Poovaiah has scope for performance but not Sonu and Rashmi. The supporting cast has given good support.

Vijay Anthony music and lyrics are wonderful part of this film. Barko Nin Hanebaraha….is apt for the present scenario!

Cinematography of Rakesh is good in visuals. ‘Astitwa’ is a film you would like because of the cumbersome situations are part in social life.

Worth a Dekko!
