Very rarely this kind of film on untold issues and unsung heroes appear on silver screen. This film 22 July 1947 on the significance of National Flag is one aspect and the other one is Sathyappa who respect the National flag against all odds is another tale that touches your heart.

Vishal Raj converting the book of the same name of veteran journalist Sarjoo Katkar, has given good environment for the film. He strikes with development especially in the second half. The music from Sangeetha Katti – 2 songs are sure to give some excellent mileage for the film. Suchindra Prasad cool and composed performance, Sudharani emotional drama, Achyuth Kumar cunning nature, Nanje Gowda as DC apt for the role makes it easy going to watch.

In the house of freedom fighter the old lady Bhargavi Narayan is so patriotic that she even declines pension amount from government. Sathyappa her son is working as staff in DC office. The duty of this respected personality is to hoist the flag everyday and place it in office cupboard without fail. He is attendant in the office. He declines a government quarter – that is his simplicity.

Sathyappa wife played Sudharani is also very supportive to husband. In the office of DC the corruption is not possible because of Sathyappa. This is a thorn for detractors. Firstly son of Sathyappa is deceived and secondly the national flag is robbed from office cupboard that bring bad name to Sathyappa.

As a last measure in front of DC office when alternative flag is hoisted, hell breaks up. Sathyappa is beaten badly by miscreants. He suffers memory loss after recovery from injury. To bring back memory his wife takes him to the patriotic places – the Wagah border is one such top moment Sathyappa gets back his memory.

The actual culprit is also booked by the police and that is a relief for Sathyappa.

Sangeetha Katti has given two memorable tunes – Vidiye Yee Niti Sariye….Vandhemataram are top class in melody. Sangeetha Katti should take up more films to give melody to music lovers.

 Nagaraj Advani camera work is immaculate.
