The proud producer of Kannada cinema SV Babu has given a sterling movie to the Kannada audience from ‘Ricky’. A wholesome entertainer for the family issue the film ‘Ricky’ handles the Naxal issue with deft approach and not taking the stand, giving the tragic end, the film further raises the level. It is ravishing and dashing from Haripriya. This kind of a role she did not get in her career so far.

The RR combine with Ricky = Rishab and Rakshit Shetty have worked out tremendously throughout the beginning to the end product. On screen Rishab shows a big promise to the fraternity of direction department. He is not an ordinary director. He has given right approach and mixing of various issues in first film, not losing the track deserves him good applause.

The mind blowing aspect of this film is the cinematography of Venkatesh Anguraj. He is really on top throughout the film. He makes more than a dozen time ‘Waav’ through his lenses.

Ricky – Radha Krishna a wildlife conservator returns to his home town after 15 years. The beauty he is looking for Radha (Haripriya) is also waiting for his presence. The ‘Navilgari’ is the connecting point for the young lovers. There is no fuss from both the families when marriage proposal is put forth. It is one year after the engagement the marriage is decided. In this process Ricky is supposed to complete his task of wild life project.

On his return it is turmoil in the life of Radha – she loses her parents and the house becomes reason. The SEX bull doze the house that eventually lead her to fight as a Naxal. She is Seetha with stubborn mind set. How Ricky on his returns meets Radha, his efforts to convince the Naxal team and final result of escaping Radha from Naxal troupe is captivatingly narrated.

Rakshit Shetty and Haripriya make a good pair. Haripriya in two shades has struggled very hard and given fine results. Rakshit Shetty in another pretty good role after ‘UK’ is very appealing. Achyuth Kumar, Veena Sunder, Dinesh Mangaluru, Shashikala and the new sister in the film are very absorbing in their roles. The comedy track of Sadhu Kokila is another good relief of the film.

Jeeva Neenu….Jevaaa Neenu….Malage malage nan edeyolage…..opening song and solo song for Rakshit Shetty are well composed by Arjun Janya. This is a musical feast with majestic cinematography from Venkatesh Anguraj.

You cannot miss this bold and dashing attempt of SV Production ‘Ricky’. It is a Rustum Ricky!
