The anti Kannada stand this time is seen from the Apex Body of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. When the Anti Dubbing committee headed by VH Suresh has submitted a report saying that ‘Aa Marma’ is a dubbed film, the Apex Body has kept its deafness and allowed it as a straight film. In addition to the insult made to the Kannada language - the makers of ‘Aa Marma’ says we will not release in other languages. So what does it mean? The KFCC does not have the simple common sense.
The film ‘Aa Marma’ announced the release as there is a clear division in KFCC. A section of the KFCC is supporting the dubbing to Kannada cinema too.
From 1960 the dubbing has been stopped in Kannada by the leaders like Dr Rajakumar, GV Iyer, Ana Kru, Nadiger Srikanth and other luminaries. The dubbing bane is very well understood by many of us. Yet a paltry section is opting for it. this is nothing but anti Kannada stand says Ashok addressing the media on Monday morning at Karnataka Cine Workers Association.
However the Cine Workers Association has taken serious stand. ‘Aa Marma’ cannot be released in the theatres. In case the attempt is made the consequences will be furious.
We are seeking the support of everyone in this direction stated Ashok. In the other languages the effort is made to save the language but here our own people disrespect the language.
Not only the KFCC but also government of Karnataka becomes responsible for any untoward situations warn Ashok.
