Very efficient director, learned professor, literary personality Prof Baraguru Ramachandrappa has created two ‘Bagirathis’ in his latest flick based on ‘Kerege Haara’ a folk tale of the past.

The ‘Kerege Haara’ reference is first in Mysore University ‘Prabudda Karnataka’. Later Ti Nam Srikantaiah made an analysis on this topic lead to various discussions.

Prof Baraguru is right man at right work is what easily told because of such discoveries he makes for his subject. It is always a lesson the young film makers should take from persons like Prof Baraguru, Dr Girish Kasaravalli and very few directors in Kannada cinema.

This has been a ‘Savalina Vasthu’ for me. How to make a Janapriya Janapada tale on big screen? When I was doing this film I got a producer BK Srinivas who wins even in his loss, laughs in his miseries. When such a support came to me I was relieved of the market part of the cinema.

What is possible to tell in40 minutes I took up various angles for the subject and made is two hours plus cinematic presentation Prof Baraguru explains how he added new human elements and turmoil inside the subject.

We have heard of ‘Sathi’ Sahagamana, I went for Pathi Sahagamana explaining the deep love of the couple. The ‘Kere’ becomes the start and end of life of key players Bhavana and Kishore Baraguru pointed his contents one by one. Tyaga, Moudya, Talamala, Stree Para, Sankata, Sambrama and other parts are touched in this film.

Prof Baraguru is going beyond his style and making it appealing to the viewers in the posh cinema halls. There are no light observations, we have shot in Virupakshipura of Channapatna, dry lake, Melkote and the film is now at the post production stage explained Prof Baraguru.

A mother in law is treated as ‘Mother’ by Prof Baraguru has been very good thinking on his part lauded the veteran actress Hema Chaudhary.

Harish B Sondekoppa is the cameraman and V Manohar is the music director. Suresh Urs the permanent editor of all Baraguru films is also in the team of technicians in ‘Bagirathi’.
