Veteran actor, producer BM Venkatesh born in Immadihalli in 1934 finished his journey on earth on Tuesday May 17th, 2011 morning at his house in Sadashivanagar. He was ill for last one month and frequently visiting the hospital for pneumonia disease. He was in the theatre and cinema for 49 years. He was felicitated in a touching style by Hari Khodey on his 75th birthday in Bangalore was memorable moment the media witnessed.
Coming up in life at a child labor at the age of 10 the colorful personality BM Venkatesh carried many responsibilities in his life.
He entered the theatre activities in 1957 in Keerthisesha Gubbi Veeranna Company. He was supporting actor in the beginning. His looks resembled Akkineni Nageshwara Rao – so he changed his name to Venkateshwara Rao.
Coming up from scratch in life the prominent role of BMV was first in 1960. He played the role of eye donator in ‘Chandrodaya’ with Stalwarts like General Kayappa Padmabushan MC Modi, Balakrishna, Narasimharaju and others.
The innings in cinema of BMV started in 1960’s. In 1962 journalist Ha.Vem Gururaja Rao introduced him to Hunsur Krishnamurthy for ‘Veera Sankalpa’. The film activity went up in his life as actor and producer for many years.

With Dr Rajakumar he was in the government sponsored play Bhaktha Kanakadasa. He was former President of Kannada film producers association and former President of KFCC.
