Songs and choreography are the plus points of this film. Soorya the newcomer has to immediately contact a dentist and check his lower jaw front line. There is a convincing villain in this film and that is Santosh. But what is the result of the film? It is depressing. Nothing is there to hold the interest and not captivating enough to fill the box office.
Devadas has to considerably improve in the dialogue department and his screenplay deserved to be better. Apparently the title itself explains everything and at least a minute change in the title ‘Bandhe Barthala’ would have kept the audience guessing.
Jobless cricket fan (a gully cricket is much better to watch in real life) plays cricket in an unconvincing style. For his useless shots there is a pretty girl falling in love. That is Ganesh and Rekha. Ganesh is very poor and Rekha is stinking rich person Lakshmikanth daughter. At 17 and half she marries Ganesha. That is not the age to marry according to government of India and Hindu marriage Act of 1955. So the couple just tied the knot are produced in the court hall.
The court orders that they should live separately for six months. Rekha does not trust her father but eventually she falls prey to the emotional drama. She goes to live with her father. Just two days to complete her 18 years she is taken to the estate and from there to the temple for marriage with misjudged youngster of Lakshmikanth. Finally Lakshmikanth understand his mistake. Ganesh arrives on the right time to save his father in law.
Ultimately a piece of advice from Lakshmikanth – parents take care of so many years and in just a few days the youths fall in love without understanding the responsibility – why it should happen he says. The heroine Supritha says to the audience that they should not follow her footsteps.
Supritha is convincing. She has the right physique and looks. This is her first film acted but Ambari has made big news for her as it has crossed 125 days. Soorya has to take a look at the long mirror and make some adjustments. Santosh fits in to the villain spot. Shobaraj as soft father in the beginning and later showing his villainy and again bouncing back to softness is very impressive. For a change Killer Venkatesh has done a good job.
There are three lovely songs but two of it is copied. Cinematography is adequate.
