This is first class Kumar! Like Bhale Kumara Bhale is famous in ‘Babruvahana’ Kannada cinema, this could be attributed to this ‘College Kumar’. Hari Santosh home work has been too good. This kind of film is required for the present generation.
It is youth verses elders of the society in a nut shell. Giving utmost care and affection to son by parents finally dips them in sorrow. At this point of time the parents do not fall in tragedy but they raises from here. Repenting the mistake that is very costly the younger generation also getting the right path is the highlight of this film.
‘College Kumar’ has many very good elements in the film. What you expect suddenly takes a different turn at the interval point. The brilliant work by the entire team deserves applaud. This is a family entertainer although the theme is of ‘Crazy Loka’ kind of films.
The son has gone wayward but father of the family accepts the challenge. When son hits back and says you asked me to study which I was not at all interested. It is because of your pressure I had pretended going to college. Can you study in the college and pass asks the son in fit of anger. The father accepts at the age of 54 going to college.
At this point of time the film becomes very serious and interesting. Rest you have something to thoroughly enjoy. It is not waste on your tickets when Ravishanker, Shruthi, Prakash Belawadi, Vicky Varun, Samyuktha Hegde and even an attendant in the college character are around.
For the younger generation it is a strong beat on the face. For elders it is nothing but a slap on the face. Right understanding right upbringing is what both understand at the end.
Ravishanker over shadows everyone in his different dimensions in this ‘College Kumar’! Ravishanker was not setting aside so many actors from villain roles, now from very strong character roles he is there like ‘Bakasura’ to eat away everyone in the film.
There are lovely tunes from Arjun Janya. Cinematography of Azhagan is convincing throughout.
Deko Deko Deko….do not miss this ‘College Kumar’!
