Another talented lyricist Hrudayashiva is out in the middle to prove his talent from a horror based cinema as director. There are scores of lyricists in Kannada cinema turning directors. Hridayashiva also playing the role of father Sebastin in the film has prepared ‘Jayamahal’ with lot of care. It is in this film Ninasam Ashwath is real hero with very beautiful Shuba Punja as female lead.

There is yesteryears actress Kousalya as queen ‘Matangi’. The power of this Matangi (this is the title of Tamil film simultaneously made) enters in the body of psychology professor Ninasam Ashwath. That leads to various complications. Ninasam Ashwath behaves like a terror queen.

For Hridayashiva the film is very important because it is well crafted, good in music, horror elements are there to give jerk. In the role of father Sebastin Hridayashiva has given his writing abilities and he found something strange while shooting in a graveyard.  ‘Jayamahal’ is a set erected in Palani there is lot of inside out of a human being in this film clarifies Hridayashiva. Why this birth, death, what we do in between….something philosophical. This role is the main knot for the screenplay narration. He has penned all the three songs for the film.

Ninasam Ashwath explained his ordeals and the series of ill health he faced ever since the ghost character costumes were on him. He vomited once, was in fever on second occasion, on third occasion his right hand skin was in trouble and it had to be taken care completely. He is a go getter and tough actor sustained the onslaught. He is having a feel of responsibility and fear at the time of release. The professor character is one who does not believe in ghost and god. When ghost effect on him what happens is crux of the film. Matangi is queen of British era who is a valiant comes in his body.

Shuba Punja is a foreign returned housewife. It was a good performance oriented role she has played in ‘Jayamahal’. This is her first horror film in Kannada.

Producer Renuka Swaroop recalled the beginning days of making of this film. Fifty days shoot at Ramanagara, Palani and Mandya was good experience he said. His father Manjunath who extended support was also at the media briefing on Monday.
