The Karnataka Film Directors Association is all set for a mega event in the month of January. It will be two years collective event. It is waiting for the Chief Minister of Karnataka Dr BS Yediyurappa call sheet and at the same time honoring South Indian fame director P Vasu and Hindi films director of Munna Bhai, 3 Idiots director Rajkumar Hirani in Gayathri Vihar Palace.
The estimated budget of this mega event is between Rs.1.5 crores to Rs.2 crores disclosed Karnataka Film Directors Association President M.S.Ramesh.
The last committee decided on the name of P Vasu and our committee is inviting Rajkumar Hirani to accept the honor. We have formed different committees and the intention of KANFIDA award is to get the entire film industry. It is not open for public.
The 17 members committee at the directors association with four members with each one of them would personally invite all the artists, technicians and cinema workers federation members. This is the respect we have to show is the first agenda says Ramesh.
Secondly all the 17 members of the KANFIDA will not be on the stage at the event. We would work behind and surely there will be some cultural event too.
The last KANFIDA function was held in Dr Ambedkar Bhavan the doyen of Telugu cinema K Raghavendra Rao was the guest of honor.
Asked on the state of affairs of 2008-2009 SR Puttanna Kanagal award the President of the directors association MS Ramesh cuts a sorry figure. This is not the time to comment because everything has been told already.
On the point of KANFIDA giving suggestion to the state award committee panel to decide on SR Puttanna Kanagal award he was optimistic. It would be discussed in the meetings to come he stated.
Another striking elements in the career of MS Ramesh as dialogue writer (he is also director) is that four of his films are lined up for release and all of them are big ones. In January middle he is taking up direction for his 24 Frames banner.
