One of the pillars of Kannada cinema with unique touch of class and comedy veteran actor, director and producer Kashinath died of cancer early on Thursday morning at Srishankara Hospital in Bengaluru.
The first biggest loss for Kannada cinema industry is Kashinath demise. He was the route cause for many of the artists and technicians in the film industry. A mentor of super star Upendra, V Manohar and Sunil Kumar Desai and others Kashinath proved as a big director and actor. Umapathi is a known cameraman is his brother. Alok is first son Kashinath is also actor in Kannada films. Amruthavarshini is his daughter.
Starting his career as director from Aparoopada Athithigalu, he continued with variety of films in 43 films. Aparichita, Anubhava, Anamika, Ananthana Avanthara, Ajagajanthara, Hedthi Helidare Kelabeku…were top films and from ‘Anubhava’ he turned actor. Films like Avale Nanna Hendathi, Chapala Channigaraya, Avane Nanna Ganda, Ssh….He was well versed in story, screenplay and dialogues.
The recent films of Kashinath talked much was ‘Zoom and Chowka’. ‘Ol Muniswamy’ is yet to release.
Kannada cinema industry deeply mourns the death of Kashinath. Kashinath rest in peace!

SCREENPLAY SPEAKS – KASHINATH
A veteran actor, director and producer Kashinath at ‘Belli Hejje’ of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy guest of honor stated that screenplay for the film is essential factor. If the screenplay is very good then a ‘Monkey’ can be a hero he says Kashinath.
Kashinath a punter in his work hailing from Kundapura of Dakshin Kannada was speaking at the 46th ‘Belli Hejje’ in fact wanted to become a scientist before coming to cinema. A multi talentedKashinath
After the photo exhibition speaking at the question answer session Kashinath did not agree that he made sex films like Anubhava and Ananthana Avanthara. He has put in three decades of service and has subjects on volcano, Tsunami etc. He declined to comment on the quality of present day films.
On a lighter vein Kashinath pointed that had he thought of marriage after ‘Anubhava’ it would have been difficult to get married. Sex is different and vulgarity is different he puts his observation. In my decades of experience I have worked hard and happily spent time in cinema. I have the idea of making a film to reach the Oscar level.
