The epoch making film in the career of Dr Rajakumar – annavru ‘Mantralaya Mahatme’ made in 1966 in black and white by producer and director TV Singh Takoor is now getting color look according to SK Bhagwan a veteran director who worked as assistant director of that film. It is for this film Dorai Raj handled cinematography, Rajan Nagendra scored music and NC Rajan edited the film in Sri Jagajyothi banner.

The first Kannada film to get color transformation was ‘Sathya Harischandra’ of Dr Rajakumar. The giant of Kannada cinema KCN Gowda invested a few crores on this black and white Sathya Harischandra to look colorful. Later Dr Rajakumar ‘Kasthuri Nivasa’ was also given additional technical facility to release.

The film script for ‘Mantralaya Mahatme’ was lent Raghavendra Vijaya author Rajaguru Rajacharya.

Apparently the wish of Dr Parvathamma Rajakumar was to bring this film in color. She disclosed this when Kasturi Nivasa was released a few years ago. SKBhagwan is fulfilling the wish of Parvathamma Rajakumar today.

The work for color touch to Mantralaya Mahatme started before the lock down was clamped. It is likely to release in color by this year end.
