Another full meal for the fans of Darshan! It is so sumptuous that even the family sentiments are also tucked besides action feast.
Had this film come soon after 2014 – remake of Tamil film Veeram – in 2015, it would have been fresh. What is to be noted is that either the producer or director not noticed several scenes have already come and gone in the five years of Darshan career in half a dozen films.
That is the danger of remake. Other films also would have catches important scenes before the remake arrives.
Yet for the fans of Darshan there are sufficient mass elements in two shades of ‘Gajendra’. There is good music from Arjun Janya and cinematography is par excellence.
Gajendra (Darshan) can outsmart anyone. He occupies the prime seat at his town safeguarding the farmers later when he falls in love with Shakhambari alias Sakku (Sana Thimmaiah) things change in his life. Gajendra becomes protector of his lover family in the second half. The reason behind Gajendra taking the onus on head is because his would be father in law Srinivasa Odeya is a Good Samaritan. So after shattering dialogues from Ravishanker the bloody fight in front of Sri Chamundeswari idol gives the expected result.
Darshan has one beard get up in the first and second half he is in his usual smart get up = clean shaved. Action is always his cup of team, two songs he has dance very well. Dialogues are well measured for his image. Devaraj is in his usual sense of dignity; Sana Thimmaiah in her first film has shown some promise. Comedy track of Chikkanna, Sadhu Kokila, Tabala Nani evokes laughter.
Action directors worked terrific for this film. Arjun Janya has three catchy tunes. AV Krishnakumar specialist in cinematography gives a complete feast to the eyes of every shot.
This is 163 minutes and 11 seconds film could have come down to 140 minutes.
