Yash is on the way to Yashas! The handsome guy Yashas in the full fledge hero has proved that he is here to stay in the Kannada cinema for a long time. His dialogue delivery (sometimes copying Golden Star Ganesh), action, romantic scenes he is too cool yaar! This is fairly engaging story line and Bienca Desai the plum Karina Kapoor in her debut shines in dance and romance.
Nagendra Urs back to direction after ‘Heart Beats’ has been lengthy in his narration of the film. Other than this he is good in the screenplay and there is definitely a variety in the film ‘Rocky’.
Rocky is not given proper attention by his software father Jai Jagdeesh and Post office employee mother Padmaja Rao is not a wayward youth. He knows his limits. He studies well that go unrecognized in his own home. But he is love with Usha (Bienca Desai). Usha is love with guitarist Vishwa (Santosh). Rocky feels it is right to keep her lover Usha in happiness and so he asks Vishwas to fall in love with her. Vishwa agrees and after looking at Usha actually falls flat to her beauty. This is where Rocky goes depressed and in the running race of love he is not ready to give up Usha for Vishwas.
How Rocky rocks in winning Usha is the interesting part you have to watch in the theatres.
Yashas has a very good feature. He is the perfect hero material. In action too he excels and dialogue delivery is convincing. Bienca Desai looks plum in the face but she has the perfect body to excel in the heroine role.
Venkat and Narayan duo have not given up melody. Three songs are impressive and they are well written too. Cinematography by newcomer is average while the director himself an editor has done good job.
This is a good entertainer for your week end.
