One of the legendary character artists SHANIMAHADEVAPPA is the first loss of the year 2021. He breathed last on Sunday at 3 pm after a prolonged illness. He was 89 and very close to the Dr Rajakumar family.

It was in 1961 Shanimatme play ‘Shanideva’ role that was witnessed by the the President and Prime Minister got the tag of ‘Shani’ for Mahadevappa. He acted in many theatre companies.

In 1962 he made debut in ‘Dharmasthala Mahatme’ and so far in 58 years of film career acted in over 500 films.

Shankar Guru, Bhaktha Kumbara, Mayoora, Etu Ediretu, Kavirathna Kalidasa, Srinivasa Kalyana, Sanadi Appanna, Mana Mechchida Sose, Shivashanker, Ramarajyadalli Rakshassaru, Onti Salaga, Jayasimha, Athma Bandhana, Premada Kanike, Trimurthy, Bangarada Manushya, Swayamvara, Mooruvare Vajragalu, Doorada Betta, Bidugade, Sampaththige Savaal, Eradu Kanasu, Vijaya Vani, Bahaddur Gandu, Badavara Bandhu, Giri Kanye, Bhagyavantharu, Babruvahana, Gaali Mathu, Operation Diamond Racket, Mareyada Manikya, Brahma Gantu, Maduve Madu Tamashe Nodi, Yee Jeeva Ninagaagi and scores of other got him recognition.

Perhaps the film in 2008 ‘Moorane Class Manja B Com Bhagya was his last film.

Shanimahadevappa was awarded Varadaraju Award in 2009 and later he got the Dr Rajakumar Souharda award.
