Situated in a tiny lane in Link Road Malleswaram in 1974, then moving to near ESI hospital in Rajajinagar in 1981 the Vijaya Film Institute has shifted it base to Basaveswaranagar on 60 feet road above Canara Bank building on a huge floor to train the students in various faculties.
Diploma in action, playback singing, key board, guitar, classical and film dance plus certificate course in film direction, cinematography, film dance and film editing are the existing division in Vijaya Film Institute headed Mr E.V.Kumar. From this year the 35 years old prestigious institution is adding Editing and Re-recording faculties and contemplating on introduction Animation courses.
On a monthly rent of Rs.30000, Kumar has given new shape to the huge floor at Basaveshwaranagar spending Rs.6 lakhs. For 10 months course the Vijaya Film Institute is charging Rs.10000 and for Direction course it is charging Rs.20000 for students.
Addressing the media Kumar urged the government to release the fund in balance that is Rs.15 lakhs as the aid getting delay is also resulting in non payment of salaries for this government aided institution. Principal Tiptur Raghu, Geethapriya were also present at the media briefing on Monday evening.
Headed by Tiptur Raghu as Principal the institution faculty consists of A.N. Sudhir, V Venkataswamy, Bhavya, Kaurava Venkatesh, Prabhu, N Anand Kumar, Arunan S and Sri Kantanaih with many visiting professors.
In the past those who have passed out of Vijaya Film Institute are – Venkatachala, Rajanikumar, Manjunath Hegde, Manasa, Sunitha, Vijayalakshmi, Sanjeev Kulkarni, Pravin Kumar, Srikanta, Suresh Rai, Bala Naik, Sunil, Namitha, Uma, Jagadish, Mohan singh, Nanjunda, Venkatesh, Mayoor, Shashirekha, Ravindra, Krishna, Gnanaprakash, KM Ramesh, Venkatesh, KR Sunilkumar, Siddesh Patil, Munireddy, Devaraju, Champa Shetty, Mahantesh, Bhasker, Krishnakumar, Naveen Krishna are the students of this institute.
