The Kannada cinema industry collected Rs.60 lakhs towards the Flood Relief of Northern Karnataka and presented it to the chief minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa at Banquent Hall Vidhana Soudha on the occasion of Dr.Rajakumar Postal Stamp release on November 1.
When Smt.Parvathamma Rajakumar was also on the dais Dr Jayamala, KFCC President, Rockline Venkatesh, Ashok, Thomas D Souza and Sa.Ra.Govindu went up to the stage at the memorable function to present the cheque. This is besides the various personal supports done by the film industry people. Dr.Jayamala coming straight to the media gallery said the Kannada cinema Industry is still collecting money and other necessities to support the victims.
At the same function the Bangalore Development Authority handed over cheque of Rs.50 crores towards the Flood Relief of Northern Karnataka people.
The Karnataka chief minister receiving the cheque donated by BDA and KFCC in his speech said nearly 5 lakh house has to come up for the people of Karnataka. It has to be performed with joint effort without mixing the politics he said. He urged the minister of state for Railways KH Muniyappa and Rehman Khan deputy speaker of Rajya Sabha to join hands in helping the affected people.
