For a very simple story giving the padding of dignified narration, good artists selection, some fine background score, equally good cinematography is what Shashikanth has done in his maiden film direction for producer R Shankar’s ‘IPC Section 300’.

For those who have seen ‘CID’ in Sony Television serial this is some what similar. Disclosing what happened and later finding how it happened in the court hall is the technique of Shashikanth. The audience would know that Devaraj has shot his wife Suman Ranganath for sharing sexual satisfaction with Srujan Lokesh. That is it! Then in the court hall without the help of public prosecutor the explosion of important information by Malik (Devaraj) changes the whole look for the film. Vijay the ‘Chalagara’ challenge to prove that Malik is culprits is watered down. He says what I can do in a hapless condition. That is the strength of Malik character built by director Shashikanth.

The judge passes a verdict that Malik is innocent. That is the amount of care Malik takes to not to pinpoint the needle of suspicion on him. But what is left next for Vijay the Public prosecutor who faces defeat in the court hall. There is something in store you have to watch in the theatre.

Suman Ranganath is seductive especially when the ice block is spread across her good personality, Vijay Raghavendra is vivacious, Devaraj is delectable in their respective roles. Srujan Lokesh is precise to the role. Sumithra as judge earns more respect. Sans comedy and songs the film would have been even more crisp and tidy. The flow diverts with these two commercial elements.

Krupkar steals the show from his apt background score. Veera Samarth duet song and club song is worth hearing. Niranjan Babu has shown he is good at his work. The lighting especially he has used is so good.

This ‘IPC Section 300’ a case that reopens after the judgment is worth watching.
