The Karnataka government headed by chief minister BS Yediyurappa has extended the lock down from 7 June to 14 June as the coronavirus pandemic is coming under control. Although this is another setback to the entertainment industry, the blow is inevitable.
Meanwhile in the second package the government announced Rs.500 crore relief, the Kannada film industry gets Rs.6.6 crore benefit and the registered members of different departments would get the benefit out of it.
Now the speculation is whether the cinema industry would be allowed to function regularly from 14 June, 2021? According to a few people in the industry, the lifting of lock down will be in a systematic manner like how it was done in the first wave of Corona 19.
The entertainment business has to wait until June end as the speculation is going on.
