On the birthday of Kannada filmdom 3 March 2022 – Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraja S Bommai inaugurates the 13th edition of prestigious Bengaluru International Film Festival at 4.30 pm on Thursday at Dr Babu Rajendra Prasad International convention GKVK campus.
This year 13th BIFFES is FIAPF accredited and the Union Government Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Seetharaman and Union Minister M Rajeev Chandrasekhar are special invitees. The event is presided over by Byatarayanapura MLA Krishna Byre Gowda.
Praneetha Subhash renowned actress is bringing the light to mark the inauguration, challenging star Darshan is releasing the film festival memorial book, Padmasri Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana, national award winning director Priyadarshan, KFCC President DR Jayaraj will be present.
Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy President Suneel Puranik will make the inaugural speech. The chief guests printed in the invitation is huge – Former CM Siddaramaiah, Ministers of ruling government Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, R Ashok, V Somanna, BA Basavaraj, ST Somashekhar, Gopalaiah, Munirathna, N Nagaraj and SR Vishwanath, M Krishnappa, M Satish Redde, BK Hariprasad figure in the invitation.

The inaugural film at 7.45 is ‘Tailor (Greece, 2020, 100 minutes) directed by Sonia Lisa. The world in Bengaluru – as of now 200 plus films from 55 countries are available for screening at different locations.
