The terrific journalist of Kannada film journalism Ganesh Kasargod known for lovely columns like ‘Chaduridha Chitragalu’, ‘Mouna Mathadaga’ in his three decades experience has taken a step to donate his body after demise.

What is appreciable for this noble cause is that Smt Gayathri Ganesh Kasargod and son Abhisekh also signed on the papers at the MS Ramaiah hospital on 21st of May – happens to be the marriage anniversary of Ganesh Kasargod and Gayathri.

Ganesh Kasargod, his wife and son are inspired by the recent telecast of son dissecting his father. An unusual event of a son (Dr. Mahantesh B Ramannavar) dissecting his own father’s body on Nov 13th, 2010 at K L E University’s Shri B M Kankanawadi Ayurvedic Medical College Hospital, Belgaum was shown to the world.

An Assistant Professor in college hospital Dr. Mahantesh B Ramannavar, dissect the body of his father late Dr. B S Ramannavar & educated students in the college on November 13th 2010, that coincided with late Dr. Ramannavar second death Anniversary.

Freedom Fighter & dentist Late Dr Ramannavar’s body was donated to the hospital soon after the death & since then his son Prof Mahantesh taught anatomy to the students in the college using the body of his father, which would be dessected on the second anniversary day.

On a similar line Dr. William Harvey, was an English physician who was the first to describe correctly and in detail the systemic circulation and properties of blood being pumped to the body by the heart. Who dissected his own father and sister for lack of cadavers?

PRO of MS Ramaiah Hospital took the initiative in getting the formalities done for the trio of Ganesh Kasargod family. Ganesh’ son Abhisekh on his 24th birthday donated his eyes after death.

It may be recalled after actor, director and producer Lokesh donated his body to MS Ramaiah Hospital his family member’s wife Smt Girija Lokesh and Srujan Lokesh both actors followed the steps.

On 2009 April 24, Dr Rajakumar three sons – Shivarajakumar, Raghavendra and Puneeth Rajakumar plus leading lady of Kannada cinema Smt Parvathamma Rajakumar also signed on the papers to donate the body after death.

Make Up Naani, father of Prakash Belawadi, director and actress Sudha Belawadi body was also donated to St John’s hospital some years ago.
