For the first time in this subcontinent a female playback singer giving tribute to male playback singer! That is Sangeetha Katti for always memorable singer Mukesh the singer par excellence.
Even after 36 years of death of Mukesh – 27th August 1976 – the singer haunts. The haunting melodies of Mukesh is rendered on 27th of August – death anniversary day by Sangeetha Katti and her husband Kulkarni in ‘Sur Bahar’ evening.
It will be three hours 25 songs from one thousand best songs picked for the evening. ‘Sur Bahar’ is in existence of last 15 years. No one can replace the singer Mukeshji.
Pyarelal of ‘Lakshmikanth Pyarelal’, Suresh Yadav are expected to take place in the musical evening a tribute to Mukesh. The prestigious violin symphony will be taking part in it. Shabbir Ahmed will be heading the conduct of music.
VK Murthy, Dr B Saroja Devi, Jayanthi, Ramesh, Ramesh Bhat, Cricketers BS Chandrasekhar, Syed Kirmani, GR Vishwanath are special guests on this occasion.
It is Rs.15 lakh event and getting sponsor is the main head ache of Sangeetha Katti and her husband Kulkarni. New singers on this evening will be Ashiq Tripati and Kaustab Bhattacharya. Kulkarni is expected to sing on this occasion.
