The talented art director of Kannada Mohan B Kere has the capacity to recreate any design shown to him has created a commercial street for the college students with variety of art work at NICE road beginning where 14 days of shoot of ‘Dilwala’ of producer Shailendra Babu takes place.
It is a sprawling area in that Mohan B Kere worked for 25 days with 40 carpenters to create a commercial street what exactly the college students look for. Starting from ‘Chitra Santhe’ film magazine stall there are variety of shops in this two tier shops. It is spread out in three feet length and 25 feet breadth. It looks so colorful and eye catching.
On a design provided by director Anil Kumar this set was set up in nearly 30 lakhs rupees says Mohan B Kere. If I remove the set it would fetch only Rs.2.5 lakhs and maximum go waste but it recorded in the cinema ‘Dilwala’. Mohan B Kere expensive set was for ‘Johny Mere Naam…Preethi Mere Kaam’. He has set up four streets for the film starring Vijay and Ramya for Jayanna Combines.
Expressing deep satisfaction on the work of Mohan B Kere director Anil Kumar says this whole area is very important because the loss and gain of the hero in the film happens. The bus stand set we are sitting and addressing the media is main focus with hero. There is a song, talkie portion and various developments happen for the film in 14 days he says. This set is matched to the Mysore College used for the film.
On the usage of corporate houses for this type of expensive set director Anil Kumar says the corporate house ask for the start cast of the film. The procedure is tedious. A few establishments have come forward for making use for the marketing purpose he says.
Mohan B Kere created a tower set for ‘Dilwala’ at a cost of Rs.5 lakhs in Ooty and that is the place the hero express his emotions.
