Director Narendra Babu of `Kabbaddi` fame now on `Kabir`Kannada cinema starring Shivarajakumar is in contact with Hindi film music director Ismail Darbar for compositions.

Narendra Babu is likely to get in controversial music director Darbar. Besides some of the super hit films, Ismail Darbar is known for `Devadas`and before that `Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam` and has a good standing in musical compositions.

Ismail Darbar also got in to controversy when he made an unprecedented statement that AR Rahman bought his Oscar for `Slum Dog Millionaire’` in 2009. Of course Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences dismissed statement as preposterous.

Ismail Darbar is now consulted for Kannada film music by Narendra Babu because of his knowledge on Mahatma Kabir. The ideological messages of legend `Kabir` appealed to the poor and oppressed – Dohas of Kabir are still regarded high. The hallmark of Kabir`s works consists of his two line couplets, known as the `Kabir ke Dohe`. The Dohas reflect the deep philosophical thinking of the poet saint. In the 78 years of Kabir there have been tremendous lines that are touching. Kabir lived from 1440 to 1518.

Born to a Brahmin family Kabir was abandoned as a child because he was born to a widow, but grew up in Muslim family imbibing mystics and lead balanced life of house holder.

In Kannada once in 1947 by R Nagendra Rao made `Mahatma Kabir` that starred Subbaiah Naidu. Dr Rajakumar and Krishnakumar starred in `Mahatma Kabir` was released in 1962. It was Sarvodaya Chitra directed by P Srinivas and happened to be the debut of Anasooyadevi as female music director. The film had 22 songs in the film `Mahatma Kabir`.
