The regional censor board has given ‘U’ certificate for a film on the philosopher of the 17th century ‘Sarvagna’. Titled as ‘Sarvagna Mathomme Hutti Baa’ was made once starring Dr Rajakumar in early 60’. The present day Sarvagna focuses attention on 250 selected two and three liners of the philosopher and including it throughout the film.
The film by Mathrubhumi banner ‘Sarvagna Mathomme Hutti Baa’ stars Santosh in the title role. The film has been placed for the national award panel says director Shivakumar. He recalled the services of Uttangi Channabasappa
Mentor to ‘Sarvagna’ is played by Srinivasamurthy. Master Chirag plays the childhood role of Sarvagna, Ramakrishna as ‘Basavarasa’, Pavithra Lokesh as Mali and others have performed in this historically relevant cinema.
Dr BS Swami with research work from director Shivakumar has penned the dialogues, Raj Bhasker is music director and Muthuraj is cameraman.
Shivakumar in the field of cinema from 1969 has picked the discovery made by Uttangi Channabasappa. Nearly 2500 Vachanas of Sarvagna are found in the records. The film shoot was held at Mudukutorai, Talkad, Ambaala, Gadag, Kaashi, Ghaya, Himalaya and Anegundi and other places.
Actor Santosh a student of Abhinaya Taranga remembered AS Murthy and said he was given respect by people when the attire of ‘Sarvagna’ was put. I was not getting as ‘Santosh’ – I want to reach to that level he said confidently.
