One of the best friends of Tamil super star in Bangalore Ravindranath also director of Kannada films like ‘Aparanji, Lancha Lancha Lancha, Thayi Kotta Thali, Henne Ninagenu Bandhana, Veerappan and Nammura Hudga passed away on Sunday on account of massive heart attack.
Bailing from Bhadravathi, born on 27th of March 1951 (63 years) Ravindranath a graduate in Science and Diploma holder in Acting worked as assistant to veteran Hunsur Krishnamurthy and K Balachander. He made debut as director from Aparanji in 1984. For films like Ganda Hendathi, Thappida Taala, I Love You, Bhakta Siriyala he was associate director.
In 1992 ‘Veerappan’ starring Devaraj got him the first best state award. He also won ‘Leera’ award from Madras now Chennai for the same film.
After ‘Nammura Hudga’ starring Shivarajakumar and Shruthi that was shot mainly in Shimoga this humble and intelligent director kept away from cinema – May his souls rest in peace.
The body of Ravindranath will come from Hyderabad on Monday morning to Bangalore.
