No release of Kannada film in the last week the 22nd May with fresh timing of screening of films utopian Upendra and vibrant Vijay the Black Cheetah verses real star battle in the box office is taking place. It is ‘Dubai Babu’ verses ‘Thakkath’.

Upendra’s ‘Dubai Babu’ is expected to be a hat trick for the combination of producer Shailendra Babu, director Naganna as two of the earlier films ‘Kutumba and Gowramma’ were super hits.

In 50 plus theatres all over Karnataka the lavishly made ‘Dubai Babu’ is releasing and producer Shailendra Babu is seeing the results of ‘Budhivantha’ for this Upendra film. For Upendra the last film ‘Budhivantha’ was a smash hit all over Karnataka and it is sure to give very good opening. In one of the songs Upendra is in 17 get ups and with two lasses he has danced very well in the film. V.Sridhar the super hit music director of ‘Mussanje Mathu’ has scored the tunes and Anil Jhaveri is the man behind camera.

A remake of ‘Dubai Seenu’ is ‘Dubai Babu’ and fortunes are good as the reports from Gandhinagar reach us. Nikitha and Saloni are the counterparts for Upendra. Kumar Govind is back after a long time in Kannada cinema. Rajesh, Dwarakish, Umesh, Surya Pallakki are also in the cast.

Vijay is showing his ‘Thakkath’ that means the strength this week. Like Upendra the black skinned Vijay also given a hit in ‘Junglee’ for Rockline Productions. He is now for 24 Frames BV Pramod and Gudibande Naidu.

In 45 plus centers ‘Thakkath’ is releasing and Vijay plays the cleaner role in this film. He has his favorite heroine Shuba Punj with him. Srinivasamurthy, Nanda, Rangayana Raghu, Shobaraj, Kashi, Veena Sunder, Satyajith, Malathi Sardeshpande are also in the cast of this M.S.Ramesh directorial venture. Ramesh has written the story, screenplay and dialogues for this film. He dedicate this film to his friend Rajasekhar who died in the last year.

Gurukiran has scored the music for this film while Dasari Seenu is the cameraman.
