Perhaps for the first time three debutant directors have not put themselves to test on this Friday. Harish Raj ‘Kalakaar’ a production from his home banner with beautiful Radhika Gandhi and Suman Ranganath, Praveen Engineer ‘Abhimani’ a debut production also for Setu and Jayaram the granite merchants starring Rahul and Nidhi Subbaiah and Guruvendra in his first attempt for Sanath Prekshith banner star Anand and Ramya Barne.

This is a debut for Kodagu girl Nidhi Subbaiah although she accepted ‘Vara’ before ‘Abhimani’. The music directors Giridhar Diwan, Dharma Teja are also out in the middle for the first time while AT Ravish of ‘Nannedheya Hadu’ is quite a few films old.

Not less that Rs.6 crores from ‘Kalakaar’, ‘Nannedheya Haadu’ and ‘Abhimani’ will be facing the fate on this Friday release.

‘Abhimani’ director Pravin Engineer has some experience from the veteran Dasari Narayana Rao and a software guy has picked the six minutes attraction from two of Dr.Rajakumar most famous films ‘Babruvahana and Daari Thappida Maga’. This is surely going to be very attractive. This is the attempt made in Tamil films by Sathyaraj, Bhagyaraj and Ramaraj to give a kick to the audience. They used to mix the scenes of MGR films so well that it was giving a feel that MGR has acted in the film. ‘Abhimani’ appears to be one such attempt and good tribute to icon of Kannada cinema too. Guruvendra the youngster making first attempt with anchor Anand of MMM and Ramya Barne of Neenyaare fame - for both of them it is a second film.

‘Kalakaar’ has been good in publicity and Harish Raj has tried some tricks of Dr.Kamal Hassan in this film and he has good reputation. The life of an artist as seen by Harish Raj in his direction is added with glamour dolls Radhik Gandhi and Suman Ranganath. Harish Raj family has involved in pumping money to make this film.
